On the 3rd of October Lusk CC's second year Art students exhibited their Creative Engagement Project in Collins Barracks, National Museum of Ireland, along with other schools from all over the country. We loved exhibiting our work and had a wonderful day out! Here are some of the digital collages and paintings created by first students as part of the Digital Masterpieces pilot project with the NGI.
Digital Masterpieces is a pilot project between Lusk CC Art Department and the National Gallery of Ireland. Second year students are engaging with the National Gallery collection though their iPads and various Apps to research, develop and create new digital artworks. Student Presentations on the Project, including their work:
In September 2014 Second year students created individual hot air balloon sculptures to form part of a group installation.
Beginning in September 2014, first year students, inspired by their research into Surrealism, created their own surrealist masks, working with the theme of 'Creatures'.
First year students worked with visiting Artist Eleanor McCaughey to create oil portraits on cast concrete discs to form an installation for our new school building. They are the first cohort of students in Lusk Community College and their self portraits are executed using materials of our new school building.
We loved working with Eleanor! Have a look at Eleanor's art work - http://eleanormccaughey.com/home.html |
